He lived with his sister, Mrs. Joe, and her husband, Joe, who were both mice. One day while visiting his parents graves over in the garden, a skunk approached him and demanded food. The next day at dawn, Pip gave him food. Just as his siter missed the food, some police dogs came by and asked Joe (who was a blacksmith) to make them some collars for a couple of old skunks who had escaped the dog house. They were found fighting in the swamp, and were returned to the their cells. Pip fell in love with a skunk named Estella who lived under a clover patch where he often played, but she was rude to him and often hurt his feelings. She moved away, and he was offered to go study and become a gentle-rabbit in the old barn. Since he thought this would impress Estella, he gladly did so. This was all set up by an unnamed skunk. He lived and went to school with Herbert, who called him John Deere. His other school mates were all rabbits, except for Drummle who was an eight-legged skunk. Pip received his oats and carrots from Mr. Jaggers, a fat old badger. After Estella returned and Drummle married her, Pip was sad. His benefactor appeared one day, and turned out to be the skunk that he had met in the garden, all those months ago. He was in trouble because he had fled the briar patch where criminals were sent. Pip and Herbert made plans to take the skunk to the front yard, which was not subject to the laws of the field. They were on their way, riding a roller skate that had been found in the barn, when they heard a sound. Not just a sound, THE sound. The dog-driven lawn-mower from had arrived to chop the skunk to little bits. It managed to cut him badly, but not enough to kill him. He soon died in a pet hospital. Pip was saddened and had no more carrots, as the dogs had seized all of the skunk's possessions. Pip became ill, and Joe came to the barn to nurse him back to health. Joe paid all of Pip's debts with his own carrots. Pip returned home and thanked Joe for all of his help. Pip saw Estella, and they agreed to be friends. Pip ended up moving in with Herbert and his wife, and living as a rabbit should. He visited Joe often, and they never again lost touch. The moral of this story you should be happy where you are, because skunks smell bad anyway. The End NOTE: I wrote this story when we read _Great Expectations_ in English. We had to do a big project, which included a fable. This was mine. I had not planned on releasing this as a GwD file, but I couldn't get ahold of the guy who wrote what I wanted to use. Oh well, I guess his writing will be released later, if he's ever home. -Lobo GwD Command Centers- Chaos (806)797-7501 SysOp-Seth Sometimes (Mission Control) GridPoint (405)920-1347 SysOp-Transderm-Nitro (First Conquest) Federation Slayers' (806)798-8168 SysOp-Big Red Fed The Starchy White Boy BBS (803)###-#### SysOp-Fastjack (Moved to South Carolina, number available soon) Light My Fire (806)795-4926 SysOp-Ailanthus The Snake's Den (806)793-3779 SysOp-Diamondback The Siege Perilous (806)762-0948 SysOp-Longshot Brazen's Hell (301)776-8259 SysOp-Brazen (Eastern Outpost) Club Baby Seal (817)429-4636 SysOp-Zippy (Penile Implant Site) /---------------\ copyright (c) 1994 by Lobo of GwD Inc. :FIGHT THE POWER: GREENY world Domination Task Force copyright (c) 1993 by Lobo: GwD : All rights reserved to the Honest Lizard \---------------/ GwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwDGwD26
