How you ended up -- some anti-whitehat / anti-security-industry DOOD

You started off wanting to learn how to hack right? You didn't know that much
about hacking to begin with. Your blind definition of hacking was "BREAKING
INTO COMPUTERS". SIMPLY PUT: You wanted to break into computers.

Immediately upon entrance to the hack scene you were bombarded with the
whitehat ways. _YOU WERE INTRODUCED TO THE POST-BUGTRAQ-HACKING-ERA_.
This is the basic path that I will cover in this .txt:

IRC:
Many people who want to learn how to break into computers start off on
irc. This is where the whitehats/security industry people have their ways
with you. You started off in some channel where people can tolerate "newbies".
These are the #hackphreak's of irc. You ask the follow question:
"How do i hack into a computer"
and you receive the following response:
"Hacking is not about breaking into computers you dipshit"
"Only idiots and script kiddies break into computers"
"It is the challenge that drives us, to develop async traceroute programs etc"

You don't know much about hacking at all, so you give into this bullshit.
Immediately you are starting to think like a whitehat. LET ME REMIND YOU
THIS IS THE FIRST FUCKING DAY YOU GOT ON IRC AND INTO "HACK" CHANNELS.
Next they start to spoon feed you ethics. So if you actually do decide to
try and hack something, you will leave a note for the administrator on how
you did it and how they can fix the problem. SO NOW HACKING HAS BECOME SOME
RETARTED ATTEMPT AT SECURING THE INTERNET, and you think this is how it works.
You will also get very bored doing that so you will just stop completely.

At this stage you are most completely brainwashed. And this is probably your
second week on irc. Like almost all human beings, you start looking up to
these people and wish to walk in their footsteps. These so called "hackers"
you look up too are the k2's, dugsong's, and RLoxley's of the internet.
You form a group, like almost all hackers these days do. The top priority
of this group becomes that of: "Let's release all our shit and make a name
for ourselves". Another priority becomes: "Let's try to top our competition
by really working hard and posting some good stuff". All the meanwhile you
consider yourself a hacker. The final, and most devestating priority becomes:
"Man we do all this stuff, let's cash in on it, make some money @ ISS etc
like our cool hacker friends do".

"You will do anything to get yourself, your group, your new security
company on bugtraq."

"You will do anything to get yourself, your group, your new security
company on mailing lists, ezines, news sites."

This is the way you were taught. You were taught wrong.

Then comes the part that really pisses me off. You become to hardheaded
to understand what you really have become. You have been manipulated to
the great extremes by the security industry. You've been working for them
since day one. You and your brainwashed buddys become "The Cool Guys" or
"The Elite Hackers" on irc. You begin to brainwash other "up and coming
hackers" with the same food you were fed. You are continuing the cycle of
evil. BREAK THE CYCLE. REALIZE WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO YOU.

The truth is out there. If you can't at least realize it there is definitly
a problem. If you truthfully didn't get into computer security because you
wanted to break into computers - this .txt doesn't much apply to you. But,
if you on the other hand, got into all of this shit because you wanted to
break into computers - and now you find yourself posting all of your
creations to certain ezines/bugtraq/websites - you *should realize*
that you are just a tool for these corperations to make the big $$ off
of your hard earned research. For all of you bug / exploit crazy
enthusiasts, posting the actual (proof of concept my ass) exploit does
*NOT* help secure 1 million boxes, it does the opposite. Question how you
are currently thinking. Help spread the truth to *every1* you know.

1) Hackers break into computers.
2) Hackers dont do things which will make (1) harder.

*SSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTOPPP THEEEEEEEEEEE CYCCCCCLLEEEEEEEEEE*
